Things to see in Malaysia

One thing that you cannot miss when you are in Malaysia is the PETRONAS Twin Towers; they are located in the city of Kuala Lumpur. They were once the tallest buildings in the world but they are the tallest Twin Towers in the world. The towers were complete in 1998 and have a great tourist attraction ever since. These buildings have many businesses and subsidiaries taking up residence. Such companies are located in these Twin Towers, Al-Jazeera English, Bloomberg, Boeing, IBM, Microsoft, Reuters to name a few. They offer free tours; they truly are a sight to see especially at night. Don’t miss out.
Some other things to see are the Batu Caves, they are located outside of Kuala Lumpur, and the caves host the festival of Thaipusan every year. There are 3 main caves and many small ones. The caves were built in 1892 and the cave is basically 400 meters long and 120 meters high and a long flight of 272 steps that go to the Temple cave. An average 800 people make it each for the festival when the cave is in its highest regalia. There is also a bazaar win the vicinity of the caves where you can find a great deal on shopping.
The Kek Lok Si is one of the oldest Buddhist temples. It is located in Penang and it has the most beautiful well kept garden you may ever see in your life. There are so many Buddha statutes in this one sacred place; you won’t be able to believe your eyes. This temple also has a beautiful Pagoda of ten Thousand Buddha’s. If you are looking for a relaxing spiritual place to spend a few hours then this is the place to be.
If you want something totally different, visit the Danum Valley, Danum Valley Conservation Area is home to over 60 million year old rain forests. There you can see many different types of plant and even different animal species. There are wild Orangutans bearded wild pigs, frogs, flying squirrels, Asian Elephants and howling Gibbons. You will see many species of animals that you did not know there was. In keeping with the animal motif you can visit the Sepilok Orangutan Centre; this is located on a tropical rain forest where you can see these orangutans act in their own environment. If you have seen them in a zoo you will see a world of difference in the way they behave in a tropical setting. If you get there early enough you can witness them feeding. There is a section for Rhinoceros, Asian Two Horned to be exact. This is one of the best places for these animals to be. It really is an experience that you should have.
There are many historical sites to see in Malaysia so if you want to take a break and see something fun then visit any or all of these place, it will truly add to your Malaysian experience. It is worth the trip.
